Why speak instead of write
- Less friction. Most people speak three to four times faster than they type, and nobody edits themselves mid-sentence while talking.
- More honest. Spoken reflection tends to be looser and less polished, which is usually where the useful material is.
- A conversation, not a page. With dazie, someone asks the next question. That’s the part a blank journal can’t do.
Anatomy of a good conversation
A typical dazie conversation runs 5 to 15 minutes and moves through three phases:Getting more out of each entry
- Name specifics. “The meeting with Sam” gives dazie something to remember; “work stuff” doesn’t.
- Say how you feel, not only what happened. Insights are built from both.
- Steer when you want to. Say “let’s talk about something else” at any point.
- End deliberately. Saying “that’s it for today” lets dazie close the conversation cleanly and write the entry.
